Your water is protected and you're covered.
TCEQ requires that all backflow prevention assemblies be tested upon installation and at least once annually to ensure they are functioning correctly. Additional testing may be required after repairs, relocations, or if specific health hazards are identified on the property.
As the property owner, you are responsible for ensuring the testing is performed by a TCEQ-licensed Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) and that the results are submitted to your local water authority.
Failure to comply with annual testing requirements can lead to enforcement actions, which may include fines, penalties, or, in some cases, the termination of water services.
